When someone has a new baby, believe it or not there are many companies out there that are eager to give away free baby stuff. Here are some of my favorites.

Mother's Lounge Freebies

This one is at the top my of my list. It's a carseat canopy. This probably one of the best freebies I got so far. You can use it in the winter, and it's not too thick for the summer. It's great to use when stepping out of the house to keep the sun out of your baby's eyes. It also prevents any drafts, rain, cold or heat from beaming on your baby. It also works great when your baby wants to take a nap in the carseat while you are out. It keeps it nice and dark in there. It comes in really stylish designs, and the material is what really makes this canopy great. The outside is 100% cotton but the inside is a very soft and snuggly, minky material. It is really nice! I was a little afraid at first, because I thought "A free canopy what's the catch?" but I'm glad I gave it a try. Now I notice so many people walking around with these. They have very distinct designs so I know they got it from the same place I did.





The same company also makes a nursing cover, nursing pillow, baby sling, and baby leggings that you can also get for "free"(again, you might only have to pay a few dollars for shipping). I never got the sling but I did get the nursing cover. I used it for over a year for my first child, and now I'm using it for my second. It still looks great. It's super stylish, which I really like. The baby leggings are a new item. I was really excited about getting them, the designs are super cute. But last time I checked, though it's been a while, they were sold out.  They were offering 5 pairs for free (just pay for shipping) by using promo code FACEBOOK. Now that things are getting a little more real, I have been super obsessed with nursery planning!  So far we have some ideas, but making them come to life has been the struggle.  And I am semi starting to show a little so we need to get cracking!  21 weeks will fly by!

The room we are using for the nursery is currently the least used room in our house, so I am excited for it to be cute and over used! :)  We had a guest bed, TV, desk, and Nate irons in here.  That is about all it offered!  

As you can see on the walls, we like grey so we can go crazier with the accent piece colors.  Here we go again with paint samples!

At this point we are leaning towards aqua and orange accents, and if a girl, adding in magenta. I'm sure once we start finding things everything will change!  One thing we know, we will have this canvas in here (purchased from Swag).  I have had it for years and we love it for the nursery!  Whether we have a boy or girl, they will need to be a dog lover.  So excited to have this as a focal point in here!

Our first to-do was to sell the bed so we could get in the room and start creating!  Nate did get it sold on Craigslist this weekend so I am glad to have the empty space now, and our first purchase had arrived - a rug!  Bad news - the rug is smaller than I was hoping (and Nate doesn't love the quality of it).  I am planning on exchanging for a bigger size because for the price, I feel like the quality is just fine and I do really like the color and look.  TBD on this...

I also know I want to paint a dresser a fun color for the nursery, and my parents have an old dresser at the lake they are getting rid of.  Perfect!  Can't wait to see the after!

The past few weeks have flown by with the end of school & start of summer.

One of our favorite candies is Starburst. YUM!

 Target had a 25 pack of Starburst that are just pink & red Starbursts (best flavors....yeah!!)

I knew I had to make a Valentine to go along with Starbursts:

Kate wanted to make these ones for the girls in her Brownie troop.

Here is what you need for these Valentines:

- Package of 2 pack Starbursts

- Scissors

- Stapler

-Pen

-Starburst printables (at the bottom of the post)

 The other version I made has tiny stars in the background and says "Valentine, you are a STAR"

 All you do is write the to & from on your Valentine,  cut out the Valentine & staple one 2 pack of Starburst to the Valentine.
